HELMET VIDEOS "Professor Helmut on Helmets" AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH --- FRENCH --- AND SPANISH The most successful project undertaken by PHMA has been our instructional video on testing and proper wearing of helmets By observations of our own members, we discovered that many of the helmets worn by school children were being worn incorrectly. The most flagrant misuse observed was the wearing of helmets cocked toward the back of the head exposing the forehead. Some wore their helmets without the chin strap fastened or with the strap adjusted to loosely under the chin. In addition to warning and instructions in the manufacturers instruction booklets sold with the helmet, PHMA undertook the task of producing a professionally photographed video using the comedic "Professor Helmut" testing and demonstrating the correct wearing of helmets. Over 3000 copies of the video have been shipped free of charge to schools, safety organizations, police departments and to all coalitions of the "Safe Kids" organization in the United States and Canada.   "Spotlight on Helmets" This video was produced for and shown several thousand times on the "Public Broadcasting System" The target group is juniors and adults. Includes contributions by a member of Safe Kids and The bicycle Helmet Safety Institute. Good Section on how to fit a helmet. Runs approximately six minutes.
